PIE Studio’s nature-based furniture

Miami-based designer Bannavis Andrew Sribyatta is the man behind PIE Studio (that’s Project Import Export), which “wants to explore the ultimate concept of ‘Living Space’ in relation to the complexity of nature.” Below are three of their pieces slated to hit the market in 2010:

The palm-leaf-inspired Baitan is a rocking chaise lounge made from recyclable polyethylene.

The Centaur chair is made with a stainless steel base that acts as a vase, holding natural backrest material that you can swap out at will (shown here in rattan).

The Boing chair is made of fiber-ply, material made from natural and discarded materials such as leaves, grass, wood chips rice husks. The back and legs are made of rattan.
