Phillips Parallel Lines Comp Winners

Sir Ridley Scott has picked a winner of the competition attached to DDB London’s recent Parallel Lines ad campaign for Philips, which invited viewers to make a short film in response to the project. Keegan Wilcox has come out on top with his film Porcelain Unicorn…

Parallel Lines (which aimed to emphasise the filmic qualities of the Philips Cinema 21:9 television) saw five RSA directors create short films using the same script, written by creatives at DDB London. The script is minimal, featuring just six lines of dialogue, but includes some significant imagery, most prominently the presence of a unicorn. As part of the campaign, viewers were invited to make their own films, using the same script. Wilcox’s film, which shows an old man reflecting on his experiences as a young boy in Nazi Germany, was chosen as the winner by Sir Ridley Scott.

A second prize, the People’s Voice Award, went to director Cédric Petitcollin for his film Baby Time, shown above, which tells of a hapless actor clad in a unicorn costume trying desperately to reach his wife in hospital before she has their baby.
