pAs part of New York Design Week’s NoHo Design District, a href=”http://www.yelp.com/biz/japan-premium-beef-new-york”Japan Premium Beef/a, part-butcher, part-gallery, will present the glass sausages of a href=”http://sambaron.org/”Sam Baron/a, art director at Fabrica. The installation combines glamour, handicraft, representation, allegory, fragility, rusticity and humor./p
blockquoteItalian glass blowers since the beginning have always tried to reproduce natural elements such as flowers and birds. Nowadays it’s hard for us to experience the beauty of a piece of meat because of our modern lifestyles and how little time we have to cook.
pThis installation unites the beauty of glass with the beauty of a good handmade sausage. /p
pThe glass is also a reference to the crystal pieces that compose a chandelier, with the manner in which the sausages are strung together and hung from the ceiling evoking those lighting fixtures that always bring life to the center of a room.br /
