Nice work from Ikea, L’Oreal, VW and more
Posted in: UncategorizedTo open this week’s nice work post, we have a new ad for Ikea from Mother, which according to the press info, aims to “inspire everyone to do something fun and unguarded in the bedroom as they wind down at bedtime”…
Contrary to what you might think, this turns out to be a huge play fight, as a couple cheerfully throw pillows, socks and toys at each other in a childlike manner. Agency: Mother. Production company: Stink. Director: Martin Krejci.
L’Oreal has adopted a humorous approach in this new ad for its male grooming products. The ad stars the ‘L’Oreal Men Expert’, a James Bond-esque figure who offers advice on how to tie the perfect tie. The campaign, which has perhaps been inspired slightly by the recent Old Spice work from Wieden + Kennedy, then continues online, where the expert distributes advice in a witty style via Facebook. Visit the Facebook page here. Agency: VCCP. Production company: Crossroads Films. Director: Russell Bates.
DDB London has created this new spot for Volkswagen, which features summery nostalgic footage (until the last bit, where it comes over all modern and a bit dull). Creative director: Jeremy Craigen. Creatives: Rob Messeter, Mike Crowe. Production company: Blink. Director: Benito Montorio.
Director Matthias Hoegg has created this lovely children’s animation celebrating summer for Cbeebies. Production company: Beakus.com.
A few music videos for you now. First up, a great piece from director Kristofer Strom, for new track Dinosaurs by 16bit. Production company: Colonel Blimp/Blinkink.
This new promo for Chromeo track When The Night Falls, by Daniels, reveals the band’s ability to impregnate ladies simply by looking at them. Perhaps unsurprisingly, everything then goes a little wrong…. Production company: Prettybird.
Nabil is the director behind this gorgeous film for Bon Iver track Holocene, which features some stunning natural scenery.
We finish this week’s round-up with a preview of some of the live visuals created for Kidda’s up-and-coming tour. Designed, directed and produced by animation collective Colour Club, in collaboration with illustrator Hattie Stewart, the visuals can be seen at Kidda’s live shows in September, which coincide with the release of his second album, Hotel Radio.
