Nice work for France 24, Carls Jr, Metronomy and more

We have something of a backlog of new advertising and promos to share with you, so here’s a bumper Friday post of nice work. First up is this rather lovely, unfocused video for S.C.U.M track Amber Hands, directed by Matthew Stone.

This is the second music video to be directed by acclaimed photographer Ewen Spencer. It’s for the delightfully-titled track, Fuckery, by Naughty Boy.

Claire Edmundson’s video for Sweetest Kill by Broken Social Scene starts slowly but builds to a murderous climax. The video was in part funded by MuchFact, a production fund provided by Canadian music television stations MuchMusic and MuchMore, though both stations ended up banning it due to its content.

The mood in David Wilson’s video for The Bay by Metronomy couldn’t be more different: he presents a modern-day Club Tropicana scene complete with the obligatory shots of swimsuit-clad ladies adopting compromising positions. Production company: BlinkInk.

Over to ads now. First up is another piece from BlinkInk, this time from newly signed director Joseph Mann. It is a short film for TIE (The International Exchange), a programme which places communications professionals from developed countries on short-term work placements with NGOs in developing countries. The film was eight months in the making and was launched at the Cannes festival as part of the Young Lions programme.

Ad agency Marcel Paris created this animated film for French international news channel France24, which emphasises its use of Twitter in its coverage of the Arab Spring. ECDs: Anne De Maupeou, Veronique Sels, Sebastien Vacherot. Creatives: Souen Le Van, Martin Rocaboy. Production company: Mr Hyde. Director: Philippe Grammaticopoulos.

The new, amusing Moneysupermarket ad from Mother ditches Omid Djalili in favour of a young Dudley Moore-lookalike who proves quite handy with a inflatable crocodile-cum-surfboad after getting a great deal on the site. Director: Speck/Gordon. Production company: Blink.

Finally, we end with a charming new spot for Carl’s Jr, which proves the old adage: never make a robot angry. Agency: David & Goliath. Production company: MJZ. Director: Rocky Morton.
