Meerkat gets blockbuster treatment and more nice work

Compare the Market ad, Agency: VCCP

Our first round-up of work for 2010 sees the continuation of the Compare the Meerkat saga with this spoof film trailer for forthcoming meerkat blockbuster, The Journey of Courageousness. The trailer is more amusing on its own than as part of the latest Compare the Market TV spot, shown here, which feels considerably more laboured…

Specsavers ad; agency: Specsavers Creative; creatives: Graham Daldry, Steven Loftus; prod co: Adopted Films; director: Henry Sheldon

Also released this week is the latest iteration in the ‘should have gone to Specsavers’ campaign, which this time features a hardy sperm with an eyesight problem. The spot also celebrates the optician’s 25th birthday.

Next up is a new website for clothing store TK Maxx, which offers the opportunity for users to upload photos of their men and see them modelling TK Maxx clothes in comedic fashion. The site is one of the first offerings from Infinite Corridor@Annex, a new arm of production company Annex Films that will create “cross-platform advertising, branded content and experiential art projects”. Infinite Corridor@Annex handled the concept, design and build of the TK Maxx site, and even composed the music, which can be downloaded here, if you are so inclined.

Promo for You Got Nothing by Larytta, directed by Tatiana Rihs
