Jan Chipchase Leaves Nokia to Join Frog Design
Posted in: UncategorizedFresh from opening its new studio in Munich, frog design has lured Nokia’s Jan Chipchase to its amphibious fold. Today Chipchase announced his resignation from Nokia, where he has held roles ranging from principal scientist (in Tokyo) to design strategist (in Los Angeles) and helped create an array of products, to become executive creative director of global insights at frog, beginning July 1. Based in the firm’s Shanghai studio, Chipchase is tasked with expanding will frog’s presence in Asia and overseeing its global user research practice. “I’ll still be keeping one foot in the telecoms world—and in fact will shortly be announcing a mobile-related project in Afghanistan, but I look forward to working across industries, including potentially with former competitors,” noted Chipchase today on his website. “Being based out of Shanghai will take me back to a continent that better reflects our global future, and delivers on many of the little day-to-day interactions that make life interesting.”
