  • The New York Photo Festival is here! Now in its third year (and with a timeless identity designed by Pentagram), the event transforms Brooklyn’s DUMBO neighborhood into a whirl of exhibitions, events, and brilliantly composed images. Guest curators Vince Aletti, Erik Kessels, Fred Ritchin, and Lou Reed have assembled a stellar quartet of main shows, while satellite exhibitions feature work from around the globe, including Latin America, North Korea, and Slovenia. Head over tomorrow evening to find out who triumphs in the New York Photo Awards. The ceremony will include New York Times Magazine picture editor Kathy Ryan‘s presentation of the inaugural NYPF Lifetime Achievement Award to photographer Marc Garanger.

  • More of a type type? Don’t miss AIGA/NY’s Type Forecast, an in-depth look at the future of fonts that takes place tomorrow evening in Manhattan. Typography prophets Jessica Hische, Georg Seifert, Joshua Darden, and Matteo Bologna will discuss everything from lettering and foundries to customization and licensing. Learn more here.
