There’s nothing like costumes by Isaac Mizrahi to jazz up an opera (our favorite so far: his history-spanning work for Mark Morris smash hit production of Orfeo ed Euridice). Now the multi-talented fashion designer is making his directorial debut with the Opera Theatre of St. Louis’ production of A Little Night Music. Opening this Sunday, the Sondheim classic will also feature sets and costumes designed by Mizrahi. “I can’t wait for the curtain to go up!” wrote the designer/director in an e-mail sent today to friends and fans.And speaking of Renaissance men, Karl Lagerfeld has a new accessory: the Commander of the Legion of Honor, presented to him yesterday by French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
