GRO’s bi-axis concept refrigerator

We’re super-digging Eindhoven-based GRO Design’s concept ‘fridge for client Samsung:

This concept for a refrigerator can be transformed from the traditional vertical orientation to a horizontal ‘sideboard’, giving a stronger reference to furniture than a large domestic appliance.

The grooves in every interior surface mean the shelves can be re-oriented depending on which way is down, and the back of the refrigerator is a clean, flat surface, as opposed to the hot mess of coils you normally see hiding back there. There’s no mention of whether the door hinges can also be realigned depending on orientation, but I have a hard time believing the detail-oriented guys at GRO would miss this one.
