Fighting chairs vs. Nathan Morgan’s Warseat

So much for chairs being things you sit in for comfort: “Fighting chairs,” above, are pieces of furniture designed for deep-sea fishing boats, where the occupant can gain enough leverage through the footrests to reel in that marlin that just doesn’t want to be caught. Fighting chairs are designed to be bolted securely to the deck, and while they need to be both super-strong and comfortable enough to sit in all day, most of them look like they were designed by handymen in a hurry using leftover hardware.

So we were thrilled to see Florida-based Nathan Morgan’s “Warseat,” a fighting chair that is aesthetically head and shoulders above the competition. “The design intent was to produce a composite fighting chair that would look at home in the cockpit of a sportfishing yacht,” writes Morgan.

The Warseat is currently “in the build process for the alpha unit.”
