DIY: Anthropologie Wallpaper
Posted in: UncategorizedI love bold accents in a room, whether it be a single wall painted a bright color, contrasting crown molding or ornate wallpaper. Unfortunately, my status as a renter makes bold paint colors and wallpaper but a pipe-dream. Sure, I’ve come across the paint friendly landlord, however, I tend to tread softly in the homes I live in. I lean my framed posters against the wall rather than hang them, because, when I move out, puttying up holes in the wall is that last thing I want to deal with. When I discovered the amazing wallpaper that Anthropologie carries I almost re-thought my whole renter philosophy. But a quick cost analysis of covering a wall in my non-permanent residence quickly put the kibosh on that idea. However, I couldn’t get the amazing prints out of my head. So, what’s a crafty girl to do? Why, figure out another way to utilize some amazing rolls of printed paper, of course:*Frame ’em: Funky vintage frames can be found at every yard sale and flea market across the country. Don’t let ugly colors fool you, a quick sand and fresh coat of paint are all these bad boys need to house your favorite wallpaper print. Buy a couple different sizes, and layer them in a room as a statement piece.*Book ’em: Old hardcover books are another favorite of yard sales and flea markets. Purchase books in varying heights and widths. Cover them in wallpaper (you still remember how to do this from highschool, right?) and stack on shelves and bookcases, mixed together with your favorite family photos and tchotchkes.*Line ’em: Dresser drawers, desk drawers, kitchen drawers… anywhere a nice print will be appreciated. These are just a few of the ideas I have come up with, what are your DIY ideas for wallpaper?Where to Buy: AnthrolopologiePrice: $148Who: Zuzubean added ‘Anthropologie Wallpaper‘ to the Hive. |
