pa href=”http://www.designmiami.com/”Design Miami/Basel/a celebrates its fifth anniversary with a record number of exhibiting galleries. Since its first edition in 2005, the fair has moved from a small church in the old part of Basel to a hall of its own, hosting 32 different galleries from all over the world./p

p”People used to come for Art Basel, and then they would stop at Design Miami/Basel. Now, there are also people coming just to see us,” said Craig Robins, cofounder of the fair. /p

pThe 2010 Design Miami/Basel is chock full of passion, excellence and creativity. Works by modern designers like Mattia Bonetti from Switzerland, Forrest Myers from the United States and Jurgen Bey from the Netherlands exhibit next to young talents like Dutch Maarten Baas, Spanish Nacho Carbonell and British Max Lamb./p

pSheldon Lapierre, director of New York’s DROOG gallery, makes his first appearance at Design Miami/Basel this year. “This is the most special fair because of the selection of galleries, the quality of the works exhibited and the mix between contemporary and modern design, which has a high value,” he said./pa href=”http://www.core77.com/blog/events/design_miamibasel_celebrating_its_fifth_anniversary__16738.asp”(more…)/a
