Furniture Pilgrimage – Help!

I am starting an apprenticeship with a furniture maker, and family friend, in Germany this summer. While on the trip I was hoping to see / do some other things that would better inform me of the industry I am trying to be engaged with. Are there any upcoming furniture fairs / exhibitions / companies / small shops that you would recommend I visit? Traveling throughout Europe is hypothetically possible on this pilgrimage…
