Comic Sans: Love it or Hate it?

Fifteen years ago, Vincent Connare designed Comic Sans as a small software project for Microsoft. While designers cringe at the sight of it—the fun, whimsical font is one of the most popular fonts used today. Recently, thanks to the internet a movement to ban Comic Sans has been picking up steam. “If you love it, you don’t know much about typography,” Mr. Connare says. But, he adds, “if you hate it, you really don’t know much about typography, either, and you should get another hobby.”
