Come to Portfolios
Posted in: UncategorizedGarry Owens of Agent Orange will be on of the photographers whose work can be seen at Portfolios
Our two-day Portfolios event starts today, June 9, giving you the chance to view thousands of photographers’ and illustrators’ work, all under one roof
In addition to all the great work on show, there are talks from James Jarvis (June 9) and, in association with Colophon, a session on creating independent magazines (June 10) that will feature Karen Lubbock from Karen magazine and Danny Miller from Little White Lies, hosted by Jeremy Leslie. Tickets for both are still available here
We also have a session in tribute to the late great art director, photographer, director, author and all-round creative genius Paul Arden. This is sold out but we will be reporting on it here on the blog.
And there’s more. Throughout Portfolios, we’re running a photographic project of our own using Seamus Ryan’s Boothnation photo booth. Although designed to look and work like a regular photo booth, Ryan’s invention is a sophisticated photographic studio kitted out with state of the art lighting, high end digital camera and even a wind machine. Everyone who comes along to Portfolios is invited to have their picture taken in the booth. We will then select the best for publication on the CR website and in a forthcoming issue of Monograph.
Portfolios is at Central Hall Westminster, London SW1. Opening hours: June 9 13:00 – 20:00 and June 10, 13:00 – 17:00. We also have a drinks reception for everyone from 5-8pm today (June 9).
The RMT is doing its best to put the mockers on things with a possible tube strike but Central Hall is within easy walking distance of main line stations; Victoria, Charing Cross and Waterloo, plus buses 11, 24, 148 and 211 pass the door and buses 3, 12, 53, 53X, 77A, 88, 109, 159 and 453 stop nearby.
