Dezeen Watch Store: Ion is the second new watch in our 2012 Dezeen Watch Store collection and is also the first watch by Hong Kong brand Ziiiro to use two archetypal hands to display the time.

Ion features a rigid bangle strap, just like other the new Ziiiro model, Proton.

This stiff plastic strap is available in black, white or clear.

The two hands of the timepiece are fixed against a brushed stainless steel face.

The watch face can be removed from the strap and swapped with any others from the Ziiiro range.

Other Ziiiro products on Dezeen Watch Store include Aurora and Celeste, which tell the time with colour, Gravity and Mercury that do the same with two comet trails and the Orbit with two circling dots.

Similar to Ziiiro’s earlier model Aurora, Celeste tells the time with colour.

The watch face consists of two coloured disks in place of hands.

These graduated disks move over each other as time passes, changing the mix of colour on the face throughout the day.

The model with the blue/black face uses the edge of the black area to represent the hour and the blue line at the edge of the blue area points to the minutes.

As they overlap a grey colour emerges across the face.

The watch with the blue/yellow face uses the edge of the blue area for the hour and the yellow line at the edge of the yellow area for minutes.

When the disks overlap the colours combine to create green.

The watch comes with a stainless steel mesh strap in black, silver or gunmetal.

Other Ziiiro products on Dezeen Watch Store include Aurora, which has a similar face but features a silicone strap, Gravity and Mercury that use two comet trails to indicate the time and the Orbit with two circling dots.

Dezeen Watch Store: Gravity – the first design by Hong Kong watch brand Ziiiro – is now available from Dezeen Watch Store.

Without typical hands or markings, the Gravity watch uses two rings that resemble rotating comets to indicate the time.

The fatter, inner ring marks the hours while the narrower outer ring shows the minutes.

The rubber strap does not have a fastener but instead wraps around the wearer’s wrist. It can be made tighter or looser by bending the strap’s stainless steel core.

The design comes in blue, green, magenta, white, or black with red.
