Behold The Cactus

The Cactus is a hybrid kinda appliance, one that moves from a freezer to a refrigerator to a food warmer. Consider it as a food storage box that keeps your eatables either warm or cold, depending upon the requirement. Designed for use in nuclear households, the appliance goes against the typical principle of conducting heat from the outside to cool the inners of a fridge.

As a heat box, the temperature is maintained at 55 degrees C, which is ideal for thermal insulated for food. The frozen foods section accommodates up to three pizza boxes and the beverage compartment has been designed keeping standard bottles and cans in mind.

The Cactus scores a full ten on the design department. It’s very kawaii in looks and everything inside it has been designed keeping food specifics and usage in mind.

The Tor of Pizza

It takes to be on the other side of the fence to understand the importance of piping hot food. I work from home so I never have to face the challenge of eating a rubbery pizza just because it went cold during lunch delivery. Maybe this is why the Tower Food Warmer focuses on meals like pizza along with healthy options like salad for keeping warm and fresh. The design takes into consideration a clever locking system so that the food compartments don’t open hastily and thus create a mess.

Warm Toes In Winter

Winter is far away and so it this concept-to-reality project, notable however is the idea of an alternate solution to keeping shoes dry and warm. Warm Shoestring is a project where shoelaces are made from a specialized fire-resistant material and that plug into an adapter. The adapter regulates the temperature and the string warms up the shoes. Its ideal for countries that experience bitter cold and where shoes take longer to dry up.
