Better Than Clap-On/Clap-Off

One of the first implementations of Apple’s iBeacon technology, Zuli smartplugs connect/alert each other when the user is nearby, turning on or off depending on their location. Then, they can perform personalized, microlocation-based actions predefined by the user. Simply insert the plugs into outlets around your home, followed by lights and appliances you wish to control. Download a free iOS 7 app, complete a simple set-up, and enjoy!

LIttle Savior

It’s happened to all of us… you’re hard at work at the computer when a power failure occurs and you lose… EVERYTHING. The worst! — Autosave is great and all, but it doesn’t always do the trick. This is where Little Savior comes in handy. Just like the name suggests, it gives you an extra 10 minutes of power so you can save your work! Best of all, it’s just slightly larger than a standard plug, making it more discreet than other heavy duty surge protectors.

Angled At 33

The innovative ∠33 ˚ outlet is designed for power outlets that are located at the bottom of the wall. Thanks to the angled position, inserting a plug into the outlet is very easy. The socket is easily accessible and invisible to people who don’t know it’s there! Pretty clever!

∠33˚ Outlet is a 2013 IDEA Awards entry.

The Push Pull Plug

A clever use of physics is seen in the Stable Plug. It basically has a push-pull feature that allows you to easily slide in and out a plug from the socket. A ‘stable’ design that eliminates problems associated with wall-sockets and plugs!

The Stable Plug is a 2013 IDEA Awards winner.

3.5mm with a Twist

The 90degree Adapter focuses on the ergonomics of one tiny, often overlooked, component: the headphone plug. It’s just plain annoying to have that rigid plastic jutting out from your phone, tablet, computer or other devices. The 90degree gets it out of the way by twisting near the intersection of the metal and plastic. The plug becomes flush with your device, making it easier to hold or rest in a case.

U-Plug

The U-Plug aims to enhance the functionality of the electrical plug by reducing the overall number of parts while maintaining safety and ease of use. Besides flexing to fit a variety of outlets, the universally adaptable design also doubles as a socket for another like-plug and provides a safer, tactile grip that can be unplugged with a single finger. Less parts means it’s also cheaper to produce and replace!

Aesthetically Unique and Pleasing

Typically this not the phrase you will use to describe an extension cord, but nevertheless, designer by Youngkwang Cho feels that he has the hang of it. I agree with him that extension cords and spike-busters are best left hidden behind sofas and desks, but if you have something as aesthetically unique and pleasing as the Curious Extension Plug, then maybe you’d like to show it off.

As you can observe from images below, when the extension plug is not plugged-in, it forms a very resting shape, which gives an user that the product is not being used. Once the extension plug is plugged and in operation, it slowly begins to change its shape into more nervous-tension look which gives an impression that it is hot and be careful when you need to touch it.
