Don’t Steal This Bag!

If life could be so simple as this anti-bag theft solution! The Easy Lock makes it so easy (no pun intended) for you to take a nap at the airport, while waiting for your next flight to be announced. During a recent travel, I had about six hours to kill at the airport and was desperate to catch some winks, but simply couldn’t take one for the fear of losing my carry-on bag. Easy Lock would have made it so convenient!

Green Lantern channeled for bicycle security

If you equate cosmic superhero power with the right-now technology of Bluetooth, designer Hsu Wei-Che has the bike lock for you. Made specifically for short-term parking, this lock attaches to the spokes of your bicycle when you’re going to head into a convenience store (or whatever other short trip you’re on) and notifies you of movement via a fabulous green sensor ring. The power is yours!

Hsu Wei-Che wants to alleviate you of some of the stress that comes with worrying about your bike by making the process of locking it up not just easy, but entertaining as well. This product also works as a lamp when you’re not just using it for security, and the sensor ring you’ll be using will make you the belle of the ball at your local 7-11.

Tap Totally Locked!

The Locko is an outdoor water tap meant for installation in gardens and public areas. The concept addresses the need for keeping these faucets secured and locked as unauthorized people may use them. The Locko uses a combination lock system to keep the tap locked and only those who know the combination will be able to use it. This will help prevent water theft (yes this happens!) and wastage.

LOCKO is a 2012 red dot award: design concept winner.

Open The Damn Door

Ok so you have too many drinks, its dark and the door won’t open. Obviously you need to insert the key, but the point is, sober or drunk, many of us do end up struggling with the key and keyhole. Concave Lock follows an annulus pattern with a fluorescent ring that glows in the dark. Because of the concave surface of the lock, the design allows you to slide the key into the keyhole on the first try! Superb!

Conclave Lock is a 2012 IDEA Awards entry.
