IJM Colour

Ijm

Instead of preparing some posts for you I went to De Kleine Fabriek yesterday … a big trade fair for everything kids … and it was such a pleasure meeting Frank Visser from IJM studio… not only was his booth or should I say pop / prop up shop a magical little place showcasing his beautiful colors and paints it was also very nice to be able to chat with him for a little while.

I believe it was a very smart move from the Kleine Fabriek to invite him … he makes the creative difference at a fair like this.

Did you know that IJM has it's own Paint Collection available for you to order via this website. The site gives you a perfect guidance what color to choose by looking at the inspiration boards. My favorite is JUHU, what about you?

Monday’s quick start: translucency at RAW color

Rawcolor

Raw Color  did it again … Simply perfection and it combines all the things I love .. wool , colors and translucency.

Interior designers Van Eijk & Van der Lubbe were commissioned by a Dutch bank to renew  their office in Eindhoven. With the help from Daphna Laurens, Snodevormgevers and Ecological Textiles a stunning project has happened.

I really enjoyed this invitation from Dutch website Kleurinspiratie (=ColorInspiration) to create a color board for them… I choose the color Blue, my favorite at the moment.

a couple of words what colors and especially the color blue mean to me.. "Hier bij de Zee"… just a DUtch song that pops up in my head when looking at the collage above. And that's what colors do to you… they bring a feeling, an association with a memory or an emotion.

Spring is here and summer is approaching, a perfect moment to bring one of the many types of beautiful blues in your house.

Blue stands for fresh and cool, but also warm and funky. If you don't want to over-do it then  just add a small detail. Blue is probably the most universal color and you don't get easily bored with blue.

According to Pantone indigo (the deep dark blue) is the trend for 2012 for interior design. The experts say indigo stands for peace and inner rest. What more could you want? Where black prevailed in recent years it is now time for his lighter brother Indigo. I can't think of a color that doesn't go well with it."

Kleurinspiratie also asked me a couple of questions and my answers are right here in Dutch or the translated version

Color palete: Birch

Hello… it's Marie of Etincelle Creative Studio!  A sudden craving for birch color furniture and decorative objects (such as the cute elephant or the unique painted piece of birch). I can picture the shelf in any reading corners of my dream home, and the cork stool is both practical and fun. And what about the chair? Available in other colors, it allows you to create a bi-color chair or even a bench. Now the house is a playground and birch is the new white. {From top to bottom, left to right: Cork stool by Jasper Morrison via The Conran Shop, Penguin Donkey shelf by Egon Riss via The Conran Shop, Areaware Hattie The Elephant by All Modern, Chair "Half C" by Johan Berhin via Sentou, Snowflake pendant light by David Trubridge via Lumens, Heartbeat Painted birch by Amy Komar on Etsy}

Color palete: Charcoal

**guest post by Marie Maglaque is the designer behind handbags & accessories label Etincelle Studio.

Charcoal looks like the perfect color at the moment… Temperatures are dropping in the north hemisphere, and here in South East Asia we are dealing with the monsoon = daily showers and chilling weather! I have compiled for you today a couple of desirable objects… my favorite being the lamp and the wall art. How about you?
