iWhale

This lovable iPhone 5 case’s iconic shape mimics the silhouette of a whale coming to the water’s surface to breath! While it’s uber-cute, it’s also highly functional. The tactile, curved back provides stability and comfort in the user’s hand, and the tail allows it to grip to a number of surfaces like handlebars, screens, or rear-view mirrors. Another adorable detail, the “blowhole,” is actually a 3.5mm port for headphones!

A Better Beethoven

The Beethoven Phone is for the hearing challenged folks who find it difficult to communicate with others through sign language. Not everyone knows sign language and to remove this barrier when the hearing challenged person types in his message, it gets relayed to the other person through the transparent screen as well as a voice message. What makes the device stand apart is the capability to turn back voices into text. So imagine the challenged person enjoying a movie using this device! Very cool!

Nokia Lumia Play Powered By Xbox?!

I wouldn’t like to call it the love child of Nokia and Microsoft but the Nokia Lumia Play Concept Gaming Smartphone has that kinda vibe where I don’t know if this baby is a happy one or not. With features that aid gaming, the extremely powerful hardware is capable of delivering stunning graphics. To solve the issue of ergonomics while playing a variety of games, the Nokia Lumia PLAY features two pads located on the back of the phone that you can use as gamepads.

Features:

  • The Lumia PLAY is powered by Microsoft´s XBOX ®, and one can use his phone as a gamepad when playing in a XBOX 360;
  • 3GB RAM, 8-core processor;
  • It features a HD, 1136×640 resolution, touchscreen with Corning ® Gorilla ® Glass;
  • Front 5MP camera capable of recording 720p videos and on the back a 10MP, Full-HD camera;
  • The Nokia Lumia PLAY runs Windows Phone 8;
  • Dimensions: 124 x 59x 7.6 mm

We Still Love Nokia Concept Phones

A whole lot of people have given up on Nokia and the sad truth is that if you don’t keep innovating yourself effectively, the competition will eat you for dinner! Oh well, we do have some loyalists who would like to envision their next mobile phone as a handsome side-pop slider with a transparent screen frame. So say hello to this Nokia concept that looks neatly rendered and with some awesome specs. I’m sure if this were a concept Sammy branding then we would get more nods saying ‘aye we like this! Ah people!

The iPhone Theater Experience

Sure, the iPhone is capable of playing full-length movies… but what’s the point? Mr. Perfect isn’t so perfect when it comes to the right ergonomics for watching your favorite flicks. That’s where the iPhone Theater comes in. It’s a headphone/phone holder combo with a slightly steampunk aesthetic. I chuckled a little too… but it’s actually pretty awesome! I don’t care how many looks I get… I waaaaants it!

Divide And View

The Always With Three is a very innovative approach to making smartphones easier to use. Most of them are now offering a decent size screen, however the multiple tasks and features that are packed make them a tad overwhelming to use. The idea here is to have three dynamic pop-up screens that expand when used in the pop-up mode. One screen is dedicated for use as a keyboard (and joystick) while the other two navigate between media player and display. Basically an expandable device, but with innovative variations!

An iPhone Dock and So Much More

When it comes to iPhone accessories, the Lumawake breaks expectations, blowing other dock designs out of the water both aesthetically and functionally! Why functionally? Well, to say it charges just barely scratches the surface – it also tracks sleeping patterns, integrates with home theaters, has an open API for developers to develop compatible software, and waaaay more! Non-Contact – Unlike competitors, Lumawake does not require you to leave your phone on the bed or wear headbands or wristbands.

Easy of Use – Lights up as you approach so you never have to fumble for the charger in the dark. One handed docking, works with any generation iPhone and with any case.

Home Automation System Integration – Seamlessly integrated with home automation systems like Belkin’s WebMo and SmartThings to do things like automatically turn the lights and television off after you’ve fallen asleep, then open blinds and brew coffee the moment you wake up.

Fully Customizable – Users can easily create custom notifications using the LEDs and can change setting and/or turn off any features they wish using the free app.

Compatibility across all generation iPhone’s and iPod Touches is achieved through swappable modules making upgrades painless

This Smartphone Packs a Hidden Earbud

It’s time to get serious about mobile phone radiation – and what better way to do it than with a lovely design concept to completely do away with it? This is the “ER”, a smartphone that works with a Bluetooth-connected detachable microphone/earbud combo. When it’s docked, the earbud charges up. When it’s out, it’s instantly connected wirelessly to your phone.

This device was made not just for those people who love to keep their phone in their pocket when they talk for fashion, but for those worried about the radiation emitted by phones on a regular basis. For them, there’s this surprisingly reasonable docked earbud-in-phone concept – have at it!

The Virtual Reality Phone is Here

The award winning LG Touch mobile phone concept combines state-of-the-art touch technology with a minimalist aesthetic that challenges the limitations of existing mobile phones. The primary feature is a high-tech polymer membrane touch surface that constantly changes to give the user tactile feedback to what’s displayed on the screen. It allows those with sight impairments to read Braille, or users who are shopping online to literally feel the texture of the material they are looking at. It’s virtual reality put to real world use.

LG Touch is the Grand Prize Winner of the 2012 LG Mobile Design Competition.
