Cali-pen: Writing utensil “made to measure”

0messograf.jpg

Until 3D scanners become cheaper and ubiquitous, ID’ers are still going to need that tomahawk-like set of calipers in the drawer.

The Multi-function Messograf Pocket Caliper/Pen is a handy substitute. While the stubby prongs aren’t long enough to, say, read the diameter of a bottle, they’re enough to determine wall thickness, board thickness, wire gauges, fastener diameters, etc.

If you’re going to pick one up, avoid Garrett Wade tool catalog, which sells them for $27.90; Passion for Pens has them for $19.55.
