The Ample Sample design competition, where entrants were asked to design useful objects from industrial fabric scraps, is over. The winning design and three finalists–a shoekeeper, a hammock, a mailbox, and a pendant lamp, respectively–have all been posted here. But unlike other design competition sponsors, Tricycle has also posted downloadable instructions on how to duplicate the designs, making the winnings open-source.
