All Hail the New TAXI
Posted in: UncategorizedThe online hub formerly known as the TAXI Design Network invites you to take its new website for a spin. Relaunched this month as “The Global Creative Network,” TAXI has abandoned its longstanding yellow-and-black urban checkerboard layout for a clean, white canvas and a bold logo. “Inspired by the increasing volume of veteran designers, photographers, and illustrators who signed up to our network over the past few months, the redesign began with the idea to combine the busy, contemporary, big-city urban vibe with the classic, old-school charm of traditional print media,” notes TAXI founder Alex Goh. “The design process began with extensive research into the design philosophies of newspapers, magazines, galleries, and even product packaging, and then building and integrating these print elements with sophisticated, and cutting-edge technologies.” The new look, which reminds us of the online home of New York magazine, better organizes the site’s wealth of editorial content while providing members with a clearer, more expansive space for showcasing their portfolios. Nostalgics, web historians, and those who don’t deal well with change can take a ride in the old TAXI via the archive.
