Aliph’s new headset to whisper sweet somethings in your ear

Introduced today: Aliph’s new Jawbone Icon, “the world’s first intelligent Bluetooth headset.” The device will reportedly “whisper important information like caller ID and remaining battery life into the user’s ear” when the user can’t look at the display, says Aliph CEO Hosain Rahman.

The company says you’ll be able to personalize the voice (in English, French, German and Spanish) though it doesn’t say what that personalization will consist of; but they’ve got a website called MyTalk (currently in private beta) that Icon users will be able to sign into where you can tweak that and a variety of options. Personally we’re hoping for thick regional accents–in addition to sounding more interesting, maybe they can put some out-of-work voice actors back in paychecks.
