After Months of Work, Arsonists Destroy Architects Restoration Project in a Few Hours

If you woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and are eager to believe that there’s no good left in the world, we’re here to help. A tragic story coming out of the UK this morning about architect Jonathan Reed‘s Dale Head House project. After having spent the past 10 months and more than £500,000 on the careful rebuilding and restoration of what was to be his dream home, arsonists showed up in the middle of the night and torched the place, leaving it utterly destroyed. Here’s a bit from the Daily Mail‘s report.

“The incident is upsetting because so much time and energy has been invested over the past year by many talented local crafts people.”

“All the materials were sourced locally and as the house is in such a sensitive location we were hoping the result would be a landmark renovation within the National Park.

The police are now on the hunt for those responsible and Reed himself is offering £10,000 as a reward. So if you happened to be way out in the English countryside a few weeks back and happened to see something, step up already. Would be nice to see a nabbing in this case (might also help you out of this Wednesday morning slump you’re in).
