Or at least an evening ceremony there. Harry Philbrick, director of the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, tied the knot at the Ridgefield, Connecticut museum on Saturday. Philbrick, 50, has served as director of the Aldrich since 1996, shepherding the museum through a $9 million capital campaign and the addition of 25,000 square feet of new and redesigned space in a building designed by Charles Mark Hay of Tappe Associates. Philbrick married Carolyn Coleburn, a vice president and the director of publicity at Viking, according to the listing published in yesterday’s New York Times.

The Aldrich is worth a visit even in the absence of dancing and free cake. On view there through February 8 is “The Silent Echo Chamber,” a multi-screen video installation by Harry Shearer (yes, that Harry Shearer). The multi-talented actor, writer, and musician culled raw feed satellite footage (but you didn’t hear that from us!) to assemble an awakward yet fascinating series of silent portraits. Nine plasma screens in the atrium of the Aldrich feature close-up shots of celebrities such as Barack Obama, Larry King, and Dr. Phil as they prepare to be interviewed on live television.
