Workbench Videos, Part 3: Ron Paulk’s Ultimate, Transportable Workbench
Posted in: UncategorizedWashington-state-based finish carpenter Ron Paulk has spent 25 years in the business, and his Ultimate Workbench is designed for something the others in this series are not: Mobility. His workbench is the largest we’ve seen in this series yet, capable of handling full 4×8 sheets of plywood, yet it can be neatly trucked to a jobsite and set up in about four minutes.
In what has become a familiar refrain here, Paulk has used multiple types of workbenches over the length of his career but “none of them lived up to my expectations,” he explains. Thus he designed his own. It features clamping holes, tool storage, and the capability to suspend a hanging table saw that I have to admit scares the crap out of me.
