Which Brands Own Which Power Tool Companies?
Posted in: UncategorizedWhen it comes to power tool brands, did you know that Bosch owns Dremel? That Milwaukee and Ryobi are owned by the same company? That the same company that owns Festool also owns Sawstop?
How about this absurd fact: Stanley Black & Decker now owns DeWalt, Stanley, Black + Decker, Bostitch, Craftsman, Irwin, Lenox, Porter-Cable, and a half-dozen other brands.
Clint DeBoer over at Pro Tool Reviews wrote up an exhaustive list of just who owns who, who makes the in-house brands for Home Depot & Lowes, and names the only two power tool manufacturers (Makita and Hilti) that are truly independent entities with neither owners nor subsidiaries.
