Indeed, the acetylene torch is a veritable metallurgical wand, and here the British designer marvels at its simple efficacy, poodle in tow. “And then suddenly you’ve got this tiny world that you can control.”

As for his definition of design? “For me, it’s really, probably just about improving things.”
