Talent Spotters: University of Salford
Posted in: UncategorizedManchester studio DR.ME just returned from Salford University’s degree show and picked out five graduates whose work impressed them…
First up – the work of iIllustration graduate Dan Ho (above), which really needs to be seen to be believed. His intricate pen and pencil work is full of expression and imagination.
From the illustration course – Lewis Loughman‘s fantastic character based work (shown above). It instantly attracts the eye with an unusual and exciting understanding of colour, mixed with a good sense of humour. An illustrator who will go from strength to strength without a doubt – taking his work into ceramics was a pleasure to see.
Adam Gorton (graphic design) had some very interesting typographic work on show (two projects shown, above). On looking through his portfolio it’s also clear to see that he’s already developed an excellent style that will only improve in the coming years.
And here are three collaborative pieces from illustration grads Sam Davies and Ellis Gayle – aka Party Cops – who will leave Salford to take on the world together.
Finally, from the fashion syling and image making course, some great photography from Becca Shaw whose awareness of colour came across beautifully in her work and was an instant stand out.
