I:: if I could live in a different place or home, it would be… a modern loft in denver colorado, a victorian flat in europe, or a built by me home in the mountains of utah.

C:: craft projects that I love best ere… beautiful or quirky items that are also functional in my home, organizing & printing photos, something to give to another.

A:: art in my homes comes from… the oil painting hand of my husband as well as pieces i've helped with.

N:: new in my home is… our stainless steel juicer that brings beautiful colors of fruit onto our counter each day. 

H:: hobby, I always make time for… posting pictures and writing about our adventures and outside time with my daughter. 

O:: outfit, my favorite thing to wear is…  my skinny jeans, bright red wool sweater, and grey toms.

M:: magazines I love to read are… (online also possible) real simple, piccola (online), and dwell.

E:: enjoy, I can't live without… my little family, the autumn season, prayer, cereal with fruit, laughter, online inspiration, white hot chocolate, beautiful things, organization, and ice cream.

Inspired by her upbringing at the southern shores of Sweden, Charlotte just needs to add objects from nature in al her illustrations… and in her own words just like many other Swedes: Charlotte loves order, structure, white space and

U:: U is for… Understanding, I rely heavily on my manufactures understanding my vision and my sometimes my not so perfect drawings.

S:: style means… being unique but relatable.

T:: time I need to make for… reading, I have so many books that I have skimmed and put away for a rainy day – if only it rained a little more in Sydney. 

R:: room, my favorite room in our home is… the living room, filled with a wacky mix of furniture I have found on the street and refurbished, op-shop finds and colourful collections of bit and pieces from my wanderings. 

A:: art in my home is from… Sue Dawes a wonderful artist from a small town near Newcastle, Australia.

I:: indulgence, my secret indulgence is… Cappuccinos with extra foam, but I don't think it is such a secret indulgence as my barista knows me by name & by nickname – "foam girl"

A:: accessories I like to wear are… Rings, the bigger the better, but I always have one on.

N:: new in my home is… Two pretty gorgeous cushions covers from Better World Arts one by Mulykuya Ken the other by Piltati Tjukurpa.

H:: hobby, I always make time for… re-arranging my house. Its small which makes things easier and harder.

O:: outfit, my favorite thing to wear is… a scarf, one of the upsides of winter. It's a blanket for your neck!

M:: magazines I love to read are… Wallpaper, Frankie, Vogue, Biscuit Magazine (online)  

E:: enjoy, I can't live without… my friends and family, I appreciate their support so much and nothing validates being excited by this incredible field I work in more, than telling the people I love about it.

Let's Get Personal with Stacy Pancake from Pancake and Friends

A:: American is… Frank Lloyd Wright, Silicon Valley, Levi Strauss, Marilyn Monroe, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, cowboys, Coca-Cola, Polaroid, Sesame Street, Big Foot, jazz, baseball, and of course the Corvette.

M:: make, I start making when… I wake up in the morning all the way to when I go to sleep. I am a maker and a dreamer; most often the two compliment each other.

E:: entrance, when entering my home you will notice… a steep staircase and a friendly twenty pound cat.                                                                                                          read more>>>

R:: room in my home that needs restyling is…the second bedroom. It has become an expensive storage unit <frown> and needs a complete re-haul.

I:: if I could live in a different place or home, it would be… Joshua Tree, California. I love the warmth of the desert and the mystery of the endless Yucca brevifolias. 

C:: craft projects that I love best are… Does gardening come under crafts? I have a very green thumb and love my urban garden.

A:: art in my homes comes from… galleries, auctions and friends. I am always on the hunt for new work. 

N:: new in my home is… a fresh coat of paint throughout.

H:: hobby, I always make time for… nature and art; both are equally important to me. 

O:: outfit, my favorite thing to wear is… stripes, layers upon layers of stripes and mostly denim; plus moccasins, some jewelry and always a scarf. I also have a fetish for Ellen Verbeek and Costume National shoes. 

M:: magazines I love to read are… Wallpaper for the traveler, Saveur for the cook, Vanity Fair for the gossip, Dwell for refurbishing ideas, Art Forum for pleasure and research, I.D. for inspiration.

E:: enjoy, I can't live without… sleep, strong coffee, my cat, nature, travel, art, design, sunshine, brown rice and seaweed.

G:: German is… holidays spent at my grandparents tiny little Hansel &Gretel house at the edge of the forest in Augsburg.

R:: room, my favorite room in our home is… my lovely sunny studio, its so girly! a haven away from all things masculine!

M:: making… DIY projects i have done or like to do are… recovering mid century furniture especially bargain items like my chairs that I bought for $2 each.

A:: art in my homes is… mostly my own work framed in recyled frames  it's so much cheeper!

N:: new in my home is… hardly anything! Thank goodness. I do however draw the line at appliances, I love our new fridge!

H:: hobby, I always make time for… baking once a week, my family looks forward to my sweet creations! Scouring my local second hand stores, it's always such a thrill to find a new treasure to add to my collection!

O:: outfit, my favorite thing to wear are… my bright red canvas sneakers, I had some as a child so they make me feel young!

M:: magazines I love to read are… Elle Decoration, Inside Out, Living Etc. being far away from Europe etc I enjoy checking that we are not getting behind when it comes to style!!I love your blog for that too!

E:: enjoy, I can't live without… the simplest of things, kisses from my boys, walks along the coast and in the bush, watching the native birds in the garden, freshly ground coffee, joking around with my husband, beautiful colours,  exchanging creative ideas with my girlfriends, creating a piece of work that makes my heart sing…

Ellen Giggenbach was born in Bavaria in Germany and now lives and creates in the village of Eastbourne in Wellington, New Zealand. I believe she madly in love with all patterns and shapes coming from the 1950's, 60's … she uses this time period as inspiration for her own pieces of art, illustrations, packing designs and home accessories. I love to see how her German or should I say Bavarian roots shine through in her designs too.
