Climbing Wall Designer

The role of the Climbing Wall Designer is planning, design and support during construction of climbing walls. The Climbing Wall Designer will be primarily responsible for:

+ Conceptualization and design of solutions from concept to completion
+ Design safety, usefulness, and aesthetics
+ Designing structures that satisfy clients needs while conforming to the laws and regulations of the areas in which the structures will be built
+ Keeping designs within budget and delivered on time

We are looking for an artist, businessperson, organizer, planner, and coordinator. You must be aware of your clients’ needs, as well as the needs of those who will use the climbing walls you will design. You must consider the effect your designs will have on the natural and artificial surroundings. You must know how to communicate your ideas and be persuasive. Our best candidate will bring to the table an extensive knowledge of design and construction coupled with creative ability.

If you’re inspired by Southwest landscapes, Phoenix Home & Garden has just the job for you. The magazine is looking for a new art director to help cultivate the stylistic direction for the publication and its related products.

In this role, you’ll oversee the art staff, as well as the work of photographers and illustrators. You’ll create dynamic cover options for each issue, organize and style photo shoots, and manage the layout and production of all stories. You’ll have a hand in plenty of projects, so the ability to multitask is key.

To land the gig, you must have at least five years of magazine art direction and photo shoot experience. You should also have masterful skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, and CS5, and some working knowledge of four-color web offset printing and pre-press fundamentals.
