The Editorial Director provides strategic oversight of all editorial aspects of MTV on-air promos, Off Channel Campaigns, Internal Marketing Communications, and External Digital expressions of the brand including MTV.com. The editorial director owns the editorial voice document of the brand and will manage and influence groups to assure the MTV voice is unique, creatively diverse and always relevant to our audience. Additionally, the Editorial Director is responsible for editing, writing, and developing concepts for assigned editorial projects as well as setting editorial standards for cross functional groups. Finally, the Editorial Director will directly manage all episodic promotions for MTV to assure voice of channel is consistent with the brand and series editorial hooks.

The ideal candidate is someone who is well-versed in multi-platform content, and can lead a team of designers to pitch, design and produce for all collateral for the mag’s marketing and sales teams. You’ll conceive and produce custom creative for clients, including in-book, online, packaging, video and photo shoots, while collaborating on brand strategy, digital development and new revenue initiatives. To land this gig, you’ll need at least five to seven years of design experience. You should be proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, and you’ll get bonus points for knowing about iPad technology.
