Christmas at Beeldsteil

Bloesem Living | Home of Beeldsteil in Christmas spirit

So delighted to receive these photos taken by Wendy of the Dutch design blog, Beeldsteil, in her own home … Wendy is showing us how she is decorating for the festivities this year… so let's start this Christmas week with this!

We love the subtlety of the decorations and ornaments. They fit so nicely in with the rest of her home's interior. Truly insipred by the Nordic countries … and the current black and white themes we see flowing aroung the web … we believe Wendy had added the exact amount of joy and cheer a home could even have all year round! hahahah …

A 180 degree flip from the va-va-voom out there kind of green, red and gold decorations we see so often. It's always inspiring to see the different themes and colors used in everyone's homes. You love some you hate some, and if you are lucky you find the one perfect for your style and your home!

For more on lifestyle, interior design and photography with a scandinavian touch, check out Beeldsteil.

What colors will be your Christmas decorations this year?

DIY wooden fridge magnets

Magnets_wood_diy

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas…with a little glitter and sparkle. These shapes might look familiar to you, we used simple Ikea cookie cutters. It was a little tricky cutting the ply wood. But we managed to create these simple magnets. Last minute decision to not paint over the wood, we love it's natural color and a little gold.

DIY_Magnets

A tip or two…
*The type of wood we got is soft and light. Perfect for cutting and making small magnets.
*Not advisable to do with children, but decorating it once its cut is something fun they can enjoy.
*Sand paper the sides if you want a smooth finish.
*That is all… so easy and looks good too.

Halloween treat for all of you!

Halloween_bloesem_setting

Happy Halloween! We’ve designed a treat for all of you. We
wanted to share a little Halloween spirit, but still keep it nice and simple. Two free down-loadable templates for you to use for your Halloween decoration.

Planning a party or not, I’m sure the kiddies in the house
will have a treat eating with Jack Lantern. Because it’ll be printed on paper,
you can also make it as a dinning table activity with some color pencils. Now
if you really love our print, laminate it and you’ll be able to re-use it
anytime you want.

Our favorite idea was for wrapping paper. We love how a
simple black and white wrapping paper looks with a hint of bright color.

To go along with the theme, we’ve also designed tags. Write
down those names for your party or use it as a tag for those October Birthday
presents.

I’m sure you will have lots of fun and other creative ideas.
If you have done something with our free downloads do share it with us on our Facebook
Fan Page

You can find the free templates at the end of this post

Almost April

Like I mentioned on Bloesem Kids, Easter is just around the corner. Since I don't have children yet, sometimes Easter can feel rather boring. I mean Easter egg hunts are the best, and it isn't as fun when my husband and I do it…and don't get me started on what happens if we include our bulldog's. With that said, to keep my Easter spirits high – I thought it might be fun to put together some adult focused Easter items. – Tiffany King
