loving these lamps from Japan

Flame-lamps_mina

I am a big sucker for everything minä perhonen from Japan … when I saw his gorgeous fabrics being used for these lampshades and then styled together with ceramic stands my heart just melted …

A Japanese online shop called Flame is selling them and although I couldn't read a word the images made me want to push the 'buy' button 🙂

I know it is a bit of a darkish ambiance but I kind of like it … do you too or do you rather go for bold and bright or black and white? ps. there is another collage below the break…

Shop Crush

B1

I have such a crush on Dunlin, a fantastic shop that calls Sydney, Australia home. Dunlin has been curated by New York and Sydney based architectural interior designers Nicholas Barber and Alexandra Bond. The products are sourced from all over, and provide new essential classics for the contemporary home that were previously unavailable to the Australian market. It really is a lovely collection of goodies. My favorites are the six tasting spoons, the glass and steal drink dispenser, and the chatham bone china berry baskets.

I have had a crush on the shop Objects of Use for quite a while now – I just love the concept. Everything about this shop is something I would seriously devour – from the cooking utensils to the cleaning brushes. I understand that loving a shop that is focused on gorgeously designed tools for use, or as some would see it…work – doesn't exactly say "exciting individual" but I can't hear you anyways, because I am too busy drooling over these garden shears. – Tiffany King

This whale is a vase and the blowhole is where you put your bitty flowers. So adorable!

How fabulous are these ceramics? They are from a company in Japan called Kusafune, and I have to admit there are some things lost in translation that not even google translate is making clear, but that's what is fantastic about such gorgeous creativity – you really don't need to know the language to fall in love. You can find out more about Kusafune on their blog here, and check out the retailers that carry their ceramics here

This sweet elephant vase with the little bird on the back would make any shelf look better.

There is just something about sheep that I can not resist. Where I live they are everywhere, and I am always telling my husband that someday I will own sheep, so before that is possible…I think I'll take all of these please. – Tiffany King

Sigh Worthy

I saw these awesome bread spoons by Niels Datema, a student at Design Academy Eindhoven over at Handmade Charlotte, and had to share them with our Bloesem readers.

B2

I love making bread, and the idea of having a spoon in the right amount for each separate ingredient, is a pretty fantastic idea.

How sweet are these hand sculpted bracelets and endangered birds

This lovely onions and leaves tea towel from Leah Duncan has the perfect spring color palette.

Let’s Talk Wood

B1

I've been on the hunt (again) for some new items for my house, and was happily wasting time at Haus Interior when I noticed all the lovely wooden items they had added to their shop. They most likely added them a bit ago, but I rarely find the time to shop – so they were new to me and so well designed. I got a kick out of the wooden cake, drink, and cupcake.

B2

I was having such a nice time looking through all the lovely wooden items created by David Stark, that I thought I would look into it a bit more and see what else I could find out. The series is called Wood Shop and appears to be exclusively at Haus Interior. I also saw that Design Sponge had posted about the Wood Shop here and included some nice details about David Stark, that I thought you might apprecaite. You can find those lovely wooden vases here and here.

I couldn't help but love the sweetheart carving kit because it reminded me of this time my husband tried to carve our names into a tree stump but the stump was frozen and he broke his knife. It was pretty hilarious, and I think this kit might boost his carving esteem after that tragic try. I also like the wooden block place card holders because they wouldn't compete with your name cards.

Welcome Love

If you saw the post I wrote on Tuesday, then you know how much I love Valentine's Day and why. I thought since I did something for Bloesem Kids, I should put together a little love collection for Bloesem Living as well.

Sponsor Spotlight : The Vitrine

Thevitrine

It was during the last months of last year while looking for Christmas gifts that I noticed the great online boutique The Vitrine, because I absolutely heart their collection. The Vitrine was founded by the lovely Blaire Dessent. Blaire was born in San Diego, but now travels back and forth between Paris and New York… in her heart she always knew she wanted to be a 'store-lady' and with a taste like this I understand why…like I said I love her shop and these are some of my favorites: dipped rope necklace; serving bowl; Le Sac and the AstackB candle holders
