Sony's Smartwatch is All in the Wristband, Allowing You to Connect Your Own Watch Face

Sony’s Wena 3 is a wristband for those who want smartwatch functionality with a regular old watch face.

It attaches to an existing watch face (Sony doesn’t mention how), and its three-line screen can communicate with your iOS or Android phone via Bluetooth. It can display notifications, measure your steps and heart rate, connect to Siri or Alexa, and has built-in NFC for mobile payment systems. The battery takes 1.5 hours to charge, and is said to last for about a week.

The metal band comes in black or silver and costs ¥36,300 (USD $268).

For those who just want the band and don’t plan to attach it to a watch, they also offer closed-loop rubber or leather units for ¥24,000 (USD $177) and ¥32,000 (USD $236), respectively.
