Posted in: UncategorizedThe Unusual Chair by Japanese design firm h220430 is an expression of the current state of fragility the region is experiencing due to the Fukushima nuclear disaster. Though it has been 2 years since the disaster & things appear to be normal, the reality of the condition is far from it. The chair aims to reflect this abnormality in its missing leg, which viewers might overlook without closer examination. It’s a subtle & thoughtful reminder that the existence of danger is ever present despite our attempts to ignore it.
