Petition to name hurricanes after climate change deniers

To increase awareness of climate change, activist group 350 Action is petitioning the World Meteorological Society to change the names of hurricanes to those of policy makers that deny the existence of global warming. This spoof film shows how this would work on news shows…

The film, which was created Barton F Graf 9000 agency and directed by Ted Pauly of Furlined, features typical US style reporting of extreme weather events but instead of names such as Hurricane Katrina or Hurricane Sandy, it shows people grappling with the effects of Hurricane Rick Perry or Hurricane Michele Bachmann. Despite the seriousness of the message, the results are pretty funny.

It accompanies a website, ClimateNameChange.org, which highlights prominent US climate change deniers and features extensive information about the issue, as well as containing the petition for the name change.
