Lots of lovely new work from around the world to share with you this Friday afternoon. First up is a film from agency Euro RSCG C&O in France for French public health organisation INPES. The ad elegantly demonstrates how keeping fit in the new year doesn’t have to be all about pumping iron and going for the burn…
Agency: W+K London; Exec creative directors: Tony Davidson, Kim Papworth; Creative directors: Ray Shaughnessy, Dan Norris; Director: Martin Krejci; Production company: Stink
Lurpak, on the other hand, is trying to tempt us all into the kitchen with this tasty new spot. The ad continues the brand’s advertising trend of treating food as porn, with plenty of close up shots of sizzling butter, but this time Wieden + Kennedy London has added a strand of humour, by asking ‘what would the French do?’
Agency: mcgarrybowen; Exec creative director: Gordon Bowen; Creative directors: Marta Ibarrondo, Michael Demos; Director: Psyop; Production company: Psyop/Smuggler
Agency: Colony/Lowe Brindfors, Stockholm; Creatives: Martin Bartholf, Rickard Villard, Noel Pretorius; Director: Steve Harding-Hill; Production company: Aardman
Two ads for banks now, the top one for JP Morgan in the US, the second for Swedbank in Sweden. Both adopt an uber gentle, some might say patronising, approach, with the narratives running rather like children’s stories. Presumably this is all in an attempt to make us believe that we can trust the banks again. There is some lovely animation here too though, with Psyop behind the JP Morgan spot, and Aardman the Swedbank.
Agency: JWT, New York; Exec creative director: Walt Connelly; Creative director: Richie Glickman; Creatives: David Suarez, Daniel Gonzalez; Director: Fredrik Bond; Production company: MJZ
Fredrik Bond has directed this distinctive spot for Huggies nappies, which demonstrates that babies might be cute, but they are also pretty destructive.
Agency: BSUR Amsterdam; Creative director: Jason Schragger; Creatives: Gian Carlo Lanfranco, Rolando Cordova; Director: Robert Jitzmark; Production company: Camp David Sweden
Mini takes on a monster truck in this new spot for the small car brand from BSUR Amsterdam.
These posters form part of a campaign created for Land Rover Phones (no, we didn’t realise they made them either) by Y&R Lima and RKCR/Y&R London. The ads aim to emphasise the phones’ toughness and strength. Creatives: Daniel de León, Christian Sánchez, Mirko Cuculiza.
US company Hotels.com has launched the website clayyourself.com, where visitors are invited to create clay versions of themselves or others (CR’s first go at a character is shown above). The site allows you to name your characer and have a go at reading a script in its voice. All clay figures designed are then put into a gallery where visitors can vote for their favourites. The headshot with the most votes each week is awarded with a $200 prize, and the overall winning character will star in the next Hotels.com commercial. Agency: Y&R Chicago; Creatives: Chris Gedris, Melis Koroglu.
This film by PES was posted onto Feed recently, but is so lovely it deserves a blog mention too. Commissioned by Showtime TV channel in the US, the stop motion film features metal objects coming together to form a sealife documentary. Lovely stuff. Production company: Independent.
Finally, we end with a sweet project by Ed Ryder, Bryan Stewart and Dean Maryon at 180 Amsterdam, who have created a font for the new year made from toasted sandwiches. The font comes in two versions, Regular and Burnt. The film above shows how it was made.
