MMT creates limited-edition timepiece inspired by art deco era
Posted in: UncategorizedMMT has updated its Circles collection with a new limited-edition timepiece, which is now available to purchase from Dezeen Watch Store.
Circles K features a deep-black embossed dial and stitched black snakeskin strap. According to the Hong Kong-based brand, rich colours and luxurious materials were chosen to evoke the glamour associated with the art deco movement.
A circular grooved rose-gold bezel with matching hands and indices provides a contrast to the dark base colour.
Like other watches in MMT’s Circles range, it has a two-part Swiss movement that doesn’t require a crown to set the time, giving the 38-millimetre case a clean silhouette.
The time is instead adjusted by applying pressure to a central button on the case back, which is made from black-plated stainless steel.
The watch has a domed mineral glass lens and is water resistant for added protection.
Hong Kong-based brand MMT was founded in 2011 by two brothers, Jeremy and Baptiste Guedez, and their friend Thomas Letourneux.
“MMT is a brand about time and its physical representation, so we will keep exploring all the forms it can take,” Letourneux previously told Dezeen. “What interests us is when an emotional connection is created between the wearer and its timepiece.”
Other MMT launches at Dezeen Watch Store have included the popular Calendar timepiece, which functions as a contemporary pocket watch, and the engraved Moonlight collection, which references the moon’s surface in its design.
