The studio’s extensive archive of artifacts includes forgotten treasures from charity shops, attics, and even street finds. The inspiration for the Spiral Lamp specifically came from a vintage timber basket, whose structural integrity was achieved by weaving rope through flat timber sheets. This clever use of material informed the Spiral Lamp’s playful construction, transforming a practical concept into an elegant design statement.

The BLOND Artefacts initiative culminated in the BLOND LABORATORY exhibition during Milan Design Week 2024, where the Spiral Lamp was proudly showcased. The exhibition celebrated the creative potential of overlooked objects, breathing new life into traditional construction techniques and celebrating low-tech ingenuity.
