Illustrator Harriet Russell is holding a short exhibition at The Design Conspiracy in London from Friday, to launch her new book, Sixty Impossible Things Before Lunch…

The book features a series of charmingly drawn visual conundrums: a leopard who can change his spots, a chocolate teapot and a balloon balanced on a knife are a few of those included. According to Russell, it is “a book of impossible questions, impossible pictures and impossible ideas”.

Shown here are a series of spreads from the book, which is published by Edizioni Corraini and was launched in Italy during the Bologna book fair. Tomorrow night will be its UK launch at The Design Conspiracy, where a number of drawings from the book will remain on display until July 22. According to The Design Conspiracy’s site, Russell will be on hand over the course of the exhibition’s run to talk about her work.
