pWe love prolific designers and London-based Dominic Wilcox is nothing but. His nonstop blog, a href=”http://variationsonnormal.com/”Variations on Normal/a, is a faithful record of this, documenting not only design work but also hundreds of daily sketches for sarcastic, wishful, dreamy, or funny objects that might be (but aren’t) seen in the world. Until recently, the sketches dominated the blog, but for the past two weeks, Wilcox has been working only in three dimensions, in a project that he has labeled “Speed Creating.” Every day for 30 days, he’ll make something, and dcument it for the Anti-Design Festival’s Mistakes and Manifestos Events. It’s day 18, and he’s posted a wonderful a href=”http://www.sightunseen.com/2010/09/to-make-30-objects-in-30-days-by-dominic-wilcox/?utm_source=feedburnerutm_medium=feedutm_campaign=Feed:+sightunseen/Qwlu+(Sight+Unseen)”reflection/a on Sight Unseen on his experience so far./p

pWe love this so much and wish more designers would develop this habit of mindmdash;what’s so striking is that the funny one-liners we’re accustomed to seeing from Wilcox have become real and moved into the world, taking on all sorts of unexpected material dimension. For example, it’s one thing to draw a lampshade made from bread, and an entirely other thing to make one, as Wilcox did on Day 5./pa href=”http://www.core77.com/blog/object_culture/dominic_wilcoxs_30_objects_in_30_days__17423.asp”(more…)/a
