Core77 Photo Gallery: Tokyo Design Week 2011
Posted in: UncategorizedPhotography by Hiroshi Noguchi for Core77
Originally planned to run for eleven days, Tokyo Design Week was shortened to six days due to power restrictions implemented after the March earthquake. Navigating Tokyo’s largest annual design event can be overwhelming with galleries, retail stores and even restaurants joining the official program at Meiji Jingu Gaien and DesignTide exhibition.
This year saw an abundance of experimental art pieces, high concept lighting, and playful food design. Checkout the gallery for all the highlights and one of our favorite borderline-novelty pieces, little legs for food by Switch Design.
Special thanks to Kai Mitsushio of doq creative port™, a website focused on being the bridge between the unique TAKUMI creative culture of Japan and the world, for translating all the photo descriptions!
