CineSkates: An Affordable, Compact Way for Indy Shooters to Get Their Dolly On

Near Core77’s NYC offices you’ll frequently spot film crews shooting movies or commercials, with Crosby Street being a favorite location. Amidst the setting up of the lights and the shooting tents, the thing that looks like the biggest pain in the neck to set up is the dolly track, and you’ll see the P.A.’s down on their hands and knees shimming and leveling the thing. If the director decides he needs that smooth rolling shot, that’s all you can do.

Is there a better way to get a dolly shot? At press time, 1,039 Kickstarter backers thought so, pledging some $240,952 towards CineSkates.
