Just some eye-candy for you today … for me it is pure inspiration and that it is just what I am looking for this week … my plans are creating small settings for some photography. What are your plans for the week?

You might have seen these images over at Decor8 last week … Holly was so super kind to introduce Nala design and my first official styling job to her readers.
Just before Christmas a photo shoot took place in my home here in Kuala Lumpur for Nala Design, a stationery and home decor line from Malaysia founded by my friend Lisette Scheers.
It was a fun day and I have to give a special thanks to Tian Xing and Sammie from Show Up Pictures, they are fantastic to work with and I would definetly hire them for any photography job.

Yes, Frieda Mellema former half of Friedamaria has gone solo with wonderful
inspirational products and images. What I love about the first look of her
website is the experimental feel of making new things… we already loved her style very much and Lab 71 is only bringing us better and more thought-through items.
In the diary section you can find pictures of the work
in progress of Frieda's gorgeous handmade creations and great inspirational ideas of
how you would style them. My favorite is her butterfly brooch collection. Very uniquely
made and I would wear it with a chain as a necklace as well.
Do people still carry around handkerchiefs? Well they should. These simple plain handkerchiefs stood out to me because of the pictures printed on them.

Last month I saw this kitchen in the Elle deco UK and it blew me away … I like everything about it. But the mint green color is just superb. I am sure I wouldn't dare do this but now I have seen it I would … so keeing this pics in my private folder. Marble is already in my home, we have a big marble dining table so that would go well together 🙂

I believe it has been more than a year ago since I showed you the first slowwood collection by Christien Starkenburg. Great to find an email in my inbox this morning with gorgeous new images of slowwood 2
Whereas the first collection all about small side tables … slowwood 2 goes much bigger … same style and materials but scaled to dining table sizes.

Another thing I would like to highlight in this post is the perfect styling by Tatjana Quax. She is well-known in the Netherlands as one of the best stylists. I love her always crispy looking worlds … and I strongly believe that working with a stylist like Tatjana makes all the difference when launching a new product or collection. Nice to see my new passion, copper accessories in this picture.

Seeing a home in one of the nicest interior design mags that has your name written with it is truly nice. In the current issue of Elle Decoration NL you can find the home of architect couple Wen Hsia and BC Ang based in Kuala Lumpur. Last year when photographer Marjon Hoogervorst came to work with me on several projects we also shot this home and it is probably one of the coolest ones in KL.
building bloc architects are known for making the best use of basic materials, concrete, copper, stone. Using nature's own elements is what makes a concrete home like this feel warm and very easy to live in.

I have waited a long time before I could find this women's work online … always did I notice Mirella Sahetapy in Dutch magazines and thought her work was spectacular. You can really call her talented, because not only is she superb in styling she also is a very good photographer… ….MORE
We all have seen the images for the HAY collection … well Mirella was responsible for the beautiful styling and Dutch photographer Inga Powileit made the pics. Mirella and Inga often work together and there isn't a single production that I don't like. Always different, high quality and art-like series for them.
I wish Mirella would sell some of her work as prints… I would love to have either one of these two images above hanging in our living room … perhaps I should email her! Or how about this gorgeous portrait below, which was in fact shot by Inga Powileit … guess I have to contact her too 🙂

Can u believe this is 'just' a showroom apartment? Styling talent, Tatjana Quax was asked to decorate an appartment in Amsterdam IJburg for projectdevelopers Vesteda…so she did together with the help of Susan Kennedy, Daphne Westland and Jeroen Wand.
I'm glad I found Halona yesterday.
Halona was founded in 2009 by Doris Westra and Babette Leertouwer and together they make unique t-shirts, jerseys, chains, bags, rugs and interior products. I love the color- and material combinations. A small webshop is right here but I hope they will add more products soon. And here a list of the styling jobes they have doen…just send them an email if you would like more information.
Like is said yesterday ever since we have a new apartment in Singapore I have started collecting images on my computer … and the portfolio from Dutch stylist/art-director Stef Bakker is one of my absolute favorite inspiration source. I am a huge fan of his creative ideas. I did invite him for a Let's get Personal Tour, but no luck so far perhaps one he will change his mind and share images of his home with us here on Bloesem…for now you can visit his gorgeous online portfolio right here…
