Ultimate Foosball

The B99 brings some awesome hi-tech additions to the game of foosball which has gone surprisingly unchanged in design throughout it’s history. It wirelessly syncs with your smartphone to give you training, match statistics or even replays. As added bonus, it features a Bang and Olufsen sound system so you can stream your jock jams while you play! Whether you consider it just a table-top game or a full-fledged sport, it’s easy to appreciate this unique integration.

Tricky for Fishies but Good for Us!

Any successful fisherman knows that light is key in making a catch. That’s why so many lures are pretty and glittery, but in deep water they’re really no use as the light only penetrates just below the surface. Problem solved! The Solar Rapala lure harnessed the sun’s energy to power its shimmering LED light, making it not only more effective during daylight but the single best bait to use at night!

The Ultimate Helmet… Period.

Um… why doesn’t this already exist? It’s just… pain… genius. Ideal for urban cyclists, the DORA helmet works in tandem with adaptable Bluetooth handlebar controls to give surrounding vehicles notice of the rider’s intent to turn or brake with universally recognizable light signals and colors. While it’s a great safety solution for the average cyclist, there’s also potential for an adaptation to motorcyclist helmets and the like. Check out the 360 after the jump!

All-Season Headphones

If you’re prepping to hit the slopes this winter then you’ll probably be including an MP3 player and headphones as part of your regular gear. While music can enhance the experience, the uncomfortableness of extended ear-bud wear can be a real pain which is why lots of helmets now have built in headphones. This innovative helmet design takes things a step further, utilizing a wireless headphone system that can also be easily removed when the snow melts off! One pair for all your favorite activities- genius!

Wet N Seriously Wild

This far-out concept by Jurmol Yao takes extreme watersports to an entirely new level. The design falls somewhere between a wakeboard and jet ski, with a propulsion system built directly into the bottom of the board, allowing adrenaline junkies to get serious air or even “board” underwater. How? We’re not sure exactly, but we want it… now.

High Performance Sled

Winter is officially here and even those of us in sunny SoCal are looking forward to playing in the snow! Now, if only we could get our hands on New Zealand based design company 4DESIGN’s Stealth-X snow sled. This super lightweight, monocoque sled is made entirely of carbon fiber to enhance its strength. Sitting in a position similar to an F1 car, the rider leans as they would a motorcycle to navigate turns at a top speed of 40MPH. It’s so maneuverable it can be skidded to a stop just like a snowboard. Leave it to the Kiwis!

When you’re done with your run, simply fold it up and carry in your backpack!

Snowboard wrist armor delight

Designer Navik Lal presents a fabulous new look at the protection of the wrists of the hardcore snowboarder. This is Morph Armour, made to create a protective barrier around your wrist while you retain near-full mobility throughout your arms so you can continue to be the sports beast you know you can be. This solution takes on what Lal notes is one of the most common mishaps in the snowboarding world, making the 88% of the snowboarding population think twice about how much of a hinderance safety has to be.

Morph Armour is a wrist protection device – or pair of devices, if you’re wearing them on both arms, of course. With this armor you’ve got 2 splints with multiple segments joined by what Lal calls “living hinges.” This moving polyethylene splint is moulded to the contours of your arm for a personalized fit, with an 8 degree angle on the hinge point of 6 individual sections for an overall wrist movement range of a lovely 96 degrees.

Each of the units is affixed to your arm with an 8 point lace system so it’s not going to slip off while you’re burning up the slopes, and a removable neoprene insert works to give you extended comfort through cushioning. This unit is still currently in its conceptual phases but very well may be a real live product sooner than later!

Evolution of the Jet Ski

Recently pre-launched at  the Monoco boat show, the Wesp is unlike any jet ski you’ve seen before. Inspired by Formula 1 racing, the craft is characterized by an unorthodox yet functional shape that allows it to cruise gently across the waves or switch into high speed racing mode. In an exhilerating twst, direction is controlled using a body motion steering system where the driver swivels from left to right,  similiar to how a motorcyclist flicks from side to side to initiate a turn.

Segway of the Sea

The Stingray is a single-rider watercraft designed for both recreational and humanitarian uses. The buoyant saddle and lever combination is driven by a pneumatic propulsion system that converts user generated energy into air flow, transmitting thrust directly into the water without the use of gears or electric circuits. Useful as a mobile flotation device for flood disasters or simply to enjoy a day out on the water!
