Clearly Cool

The Ghost watch earns its namesake for the completely clear material that composes the entire band. The flexible display reads the time in simple, minimal, dot-matrix style. Colorless and cool, it’s complimentary to almost any outfit. As for how it works… well, we’re not sure… no do we care as long as we can have one!

Big Bulges Are Out, Try The Capsule Minimalist Wallet

The Minimalist slim leather wallet came to my attention through a successful Kickstarter campaign funded in 2012. Fast-forward to the present and all you people with unsightly pocket bulges need to get on the bandwagon and slim down. It may not be for everyone but if you think about it, all you need is your ID, maybe some cash, and one or two frequently used cards. I’ve been living with mine for a few months and don’t miss my traditional wallet at all.

If you’ve read any of my articles in the past regarding slim wallets, you know I’ve been hunting for a good one. I generally use my “man-bag” to hold everything. No it’s not a purse. It’s a MAN-BAG! Don’t get it twisted. I’m metro like that, but I digress. There are occasions where carrying a lighter load makes life a whole lot easier and if I were any kind of editor, I’d concede most of my readers don’t have man-bags.

I’ve tried other ultra-slim wallets and the good ones all carry similar “dna”. A clip to hold money, a slot to hold cards, and handcrafted quality using real leather. What sets The Minimalist apart is the price. At $50 it is far more affordable than competitor products. Sure, there are cheaper options but they’re generally made of plastic or simulated leather. Build quality is usually lacking and the the metal clips weaken over time. After two months of use, The nappa leather has only barely stretched out, just enough to make it easier to pull cards out. The money clip is as “clippy” when new and despite its graspy nature – is still easy to manage cash.

Like it? Let me know. Capsule is offering black, blue, brown, and grey versions.

Big Pixels are IN!

This cleverly designed Pixel wristwatch is the latest in a trend of oversized squares, using them to denote the time in an easy-to-read yet striking way! At any given time, just 3 squares are displayed on the face, moving about to indicate the hours and minutes while the center square blinks with each passing second.

Shockproof Backpack

The Juggernaut cyclist’s backpack aims to protect the rider as much as the contents in the event of an accident or fall. Composed of rigid yet lightweight CURV thermoplastic material, the backpack hugs the wearer like a motorcycle fairing, offering added protection to the areas most susceptible to injury including ribs, shoulders, kidneys, and spine. With its aerodynamic teardrop shape, ergonomic straps and overall lightness, the cyclist will barely know its there… unless they fall, in which case they’ll be glad they were wearing it!

Backpack Body Fusion

Ok, so if you turn it around it would sorta look like one of those pregnancy simulators… but it’s because of these natural curves that the Fusion Ultimate Black backpack is so darn comfortable! The ergonomic design follows the natural curvature of the body to make it flexible, comfortable, aerodynamic and easy to wear for longer periods of time. In full grain calf leather it’s also durable enough to take almost anywhere.

Mortal Time

Time is a great reminder of the fact that there are some things unexplainable about this world we live in. For example faith, belief and hope, all come to us at a time when we need them the most. To signify the importance of god and faith, we have here the Crux Watch.

  • Hour hand turns around imaginary circle. When it turns it does not touch visual parts of the Cross.
  • Minute hand is long and goes to the end and represents hope.
  • Hands are deep inside the watch, so do we have to be inside ourselves to be able to find Faith, to find ourselves.

For the not-so-serious businessman/woman, the Clip Bag playfully borrows its form from a common office item… the binder clip! Constructed of wool felt and aluminum tubing, the bag functions so well you might forget just how clever it is.

Puzzling Smartwatch Apps

These perplexing time apps were created for the much-raved about I’m Watch smartwatch, and transform the basic resting face of the device into the time-telling puzzle of your choice. No ticking hands, no big numbers… hit the jump to see if you can solve em’ without help from the decipher-instructions!

Tritime – uses twelve color triangles to represent hours and twelve smaller triangles to represent 5 minute sections.

Timenine – hours are shown in big color numbers while minutes are displayed in 6 groups of 9 dots, each dot representing a single minute — after 10 minutes the group transforms into a single square — after 30 minutes a long rectangle is formed.

Timegrid – surprisingly fast, simple time reading is made possible by graphing hours in a rectangle that grows as time goes by — minutes are shown in the middle of the board grid
